Roughly 3,000 job seekers were expected at a career fair hosted by the world's busiest airport at the Georgia International Convention Center.

More than 2,100 people registered for Hartsfield-Jackson International's semi-annual job fair that runs through 2 p.m. Tuesday. Hundreds more were expected as walk-ins.

With the holidays approaching and many planning to spend extra for gifts, “people are really inspired to come out” to look for better job opportunities, said airport career fair organizer Chermaine Axam.

Hartsfield-Jackson spokesman Andrew Gobeil called the career fair an example of the airport's role as an economic generator.
