Delta Air Lines is launching a three-year, $136 million effort to modernize its gate areas at Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport.
"We're going to modernize the airport," said Kenneth Dodson, regional director of properties and facilities at Delta. "We're going to add more windows, replacing windows and bringing in more light."
Another key improvement for travelers: Delta will add more seats with power outlets as part of the renovation.

Delta is handling the renovations on its gates on Concourses T, A, B and C, in a system that gives the airline more control over the project to coordinate construction with its use of the gates for flights.
The renovations will cover a total of 85 Delta gates, and Dodson told contractors interested in the project, "There will be no gate closures during operating hours. Those gates are too important to us."
