It’s officially August, which means that summer is creeping to a close. But don’t worry — there are still plenty of events to keep you busy!

From a day at a family festival in College Park to an epic Saturday night comedy show, here are five of the best things happening in Atlanta this weekend.

Get your vibe on at a luau party

This Friday, Aug. 5, get tropical at Red’s Beer Garden with Flying Embers.

From 6 to 9 p.m., there will be leis, Hawaiian music, margaritas, mojitos, hula, limbo and more. If you buy any Flying Embers beverage during the event, you’ll receive a free tiki cup and an umbrella straw and entry into a raffle for a backpack cooler. Put on your best Hawaiian shirt or tropical attire to be eligible for even more prizes.

Location: East Atlanta - 1328 Boulevard SE; Time: 6-9 p.m.; Date: Friday, Aug. 5; Admission: Free; Website: events.accessatlanta.com

Take the kiddos to College Park Kid’s Fest

College Park Kid’s Fest is this Saturday, and we can’t wait!

This free event is exciting for the whole family. There will be live entertainment, arts and crafts and activities for all ages. Members of the Atlanta Dream and Sky Hawks will be taking part in giveaways — which will include groceries, school supplies, and backpacks — and there’ll be various on-site services focusing on health, homebuying and financial services.

Location: College Park - 2000 Convention Center Concourse, College Park, GA 30337; Time: Noon to 4 p.m.; Date: Saturday, Aug. 6; Admission: Free; Website: events.accessatlanta.com

Attend a comedy show at ASW Whiskey Exchange

Don’t miss the hilarious Eric Neumann, who’s coming to town this Saturday night! You may have seen him on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” or Comedy Central’s “This Week At The Comedy Cellar.” He even appeared on Netflix’s “The Iliza Shlesinger Sketch Show.”

The show is a 21+ event, and free parking is available. Drinks and snacks will be available for purchase, so come hungry, thirsty and ready to laugh.

Location: Southwest Atlanta - 1000 White St SW; Time: 7:30 p.m.; Date: Saturday, Aug. 6; Admission: $20; Website: events.accessatlanta.com

Watch lanterns light up Peachtree Street on Saturday

If you’re a fan of the Beltline Lantern Parade, we’ve got something right up your alley!

On Saturday night, come to Colony Square and join the Parliament of Owls, a community-themed parade featuring the Second Line Band and parade-goers marching down Peachtree Street at night. Parade attire is black and white and steps off at 9 p.m. with the Black Sheep Ensemble leading the way.

Location: Midtown - 1197 Peachtree St NE; Time: 8-9:30 p.m.; Date: Saturday, Aug. 6; Admission: Free; Website: events.accessatlanta.com

Celebrate the life and music of Jerry Garcia

Come out to celebrate the man behind the Grateful Dead at Jerry Day ATL.

The Grateful Dead is one of the most well-known and influential rock bands in history, but they’re also responsible for some of the best music ever composed. So it’s no surprise that their fans are some of the most dedicated — and we’re sure you’ll meet plenty of new (and some familiar) ones at this Sunday evening event.

There will be bands performing until midnight on two indoor stages, featuring some of Georgia’s best musicians, such as Frankly Scarlet, Webster, Magnolia Express and more. In addition, food will be available at Stationside, and some food truck vendors are expected to be in the parking lot.

Location: Northwest Atlanta - 887 West Marietta St NW C; Time: 3 p.m. to midnight; Date: Sunday, Aug. 7; Admission: $40+; Website: events.accessatlanta.com.
