If you ever wished you could pay for Amazon’s Prime streaming service monthly just like Netflix, now you can.
Seattle-based Amazon said it will start offering an $8.99 a month streaming service for movies and TV shows only or a service for video and music streaming, two-day delivery of most online purchases and other benefits for $10.99 a month.

The new plans will put Amazon in more direct competition with online streaming giant Netflix and other competitors like Hulu, who give consumers the option on paying per month.
Amazon had charged an annual fee of $99 that gave customers video and music streaming, two-day delivery and access to benefits such as access to the Kindle Lending Library. That option will continue to exist.
The new monthly plans are more expensive in the long run than paying the annual fee. The video-only package will cost $8.88 more a year if paid month-to-month, while the more fully equipped $10.99- a-month package will cost $32.88 more than if it were paid for in one annual installment.
