Braves and Coke renew contract, add Coke name to Roxy

The more things change, the more they stay the same.

The Atlanta Braves may be moving to Cobb County next year, but the team’s relationships with hometown beverage giant Coca-Cola remains as strong as ever.

The Braves announced today that they have struck a multi-year deal to keep Coke as its non-alcoholic beverage of choice when the team moves to SunTrust Park next season.

“Coca-Coal is an iconic brand of Atlanta and of the southeast,” Derek Schiller, Braves President of Business, said in an interview. “They have been closely associated with the Braves in one way or another for 50 years.”

The deal also puts Coca-Cola back as title sponsor of the revitalized Roxy Theater in the park’s Battery Atlanta — as in Coca-Cola’s Roxy Theater — and creates new branded section in left field dubbed “The Coca-Cola Porch.”

Schiller declined to elaborate on the terms of the Coke deal, including the length of the contract and how much the beverage giant is paying.
