HD Supply, a distributor of heavy equipment, will expand its operations in Cobb County as part of a broader reshaping of its business.

The company add 500 workers in Cobb over the next five years as part of a new $100 million headquarters campus, according to a news release Thursday from Gov. Nathan Deal’s office. In January, the company approached the Development Authority of Cobb County for incentives for the project, according to a report at the time from the Marietta Daily Journal.
The new headquarters facility is part of a consolidation of HD Supply’s operations and will tied together the company’s existing field support units. The company currently employs 200 at its current headquarters near Cumberland Mall.
The jobs coming to Cobb include positions in supply chain management, information technology, finance, sales and operations, the release said.

HD Supply, a Fortune 500 company, is a former spin off of the Home Depot. The company distributes heavy duty, infrastructure, and specialty construction products and equipment.
