Amazon pick up/drop off to open at Georgia Tech

Amazon is opening a pick up location at Georgia Tech, the first of its kind of pick up-drop off station in Georgia.

Amazon@GeorgiaTech will launch this summer at 86 Fifth Street NW on the Georgia Tech campus, according to Georgia Tech. The approximately 2,500-square-foot space will allow students, faculty as well as the greater metro Atlanta community to get their Amazon packages at a central location as well as return items back to the online giant, the school said.

“Our students are savvy consumers who value the efficiency and convenience of online shopping,” said Paul Strouts, vice president of campus services at Georgia Tech. “We are pleased to offer a service that takes the delivery experience to a new level through novel engineering and the creative application of technology.”

Amazon has had staffed pick up locations at several universities since 2015, including  Purdue University, University of Massachusetts Amherst, and University of California, Berkeley. In addition to Georgia Tech, Amazon is opening locations at the University of Pennsylvania, University of California, Davis and The University of Texas at Austin in 2016.
