Johnson Studio, well known for restaurant, lounge and other hospitality industry design, will fold into the Cooper Carry practice, though it will retain its brand and will continue to specialize in interiors for hospitality clients, according to a news release.
Among the Johnson Studio’s Atlanta projects are the redesign of the Polaris lounge in downtown Hyatt Regency hotel and KR SteakBar by noted chef Kevin Rathbun.
“Over the past 25 years our firm has built an impeccable reputation for producing some of the most forward-thinking restaurant designs whether they are part of a hotel or free-standing,” Bill Johnson, president of Johnson Studio, said in the release. “This collaboration with Cooper Carry, one of the nation’s most respected hotel designers, provides a platform for future services that we feel will be unparalleled.”
Cooper Carry is among Atlanta’s best-known design firms, specializing in architecture, master planning, landscape design, interiors and consulting services. Its project roster in the Atlanta area includes the State Farm operations center under construction in Dunwoody near Perimeter Mall, 10 Terminus in Buckhead and Lindbergh City Center transit oriented development in Buckhead.
“We have long admired their work and the creative solutions they bring to their projects,” Kevin Cantley, CEO of Cooper Carry said in the release. “Now by joining forces, we are delighted to have them work alongside our talented hotel and retail team every day. This new alliance will provide significant opportunities for our clients to continue to receive the highest level of service and superior design for which both firms are noted for.”
