Amazon adding 850 jobs in Atlanta for the holidays

On-line retailer Amazon is hiring 850 part-time workers for seasonal jobs at its East Point warehouse which handles electronic and apparel merchandise.

Jobs pay $10.25 an hour.

Workers must be at least 18 years old with a high school diploma or GED. They must be able to work any shift and overtime, when needed, read English and be able to lift up to 49 pounds. They must also be able to stand and walk for up to 10 hours, as well as push, pull, squat and bend.

Recruitment is being conducted on line. The Georgia Department of Labor is assisting Amazon by screening applicants.
