The Gators will host Colorado State in a football game on Sept. 15, 2018, according to a report from the The Coloradoan.

First-year Florida coach Jim McElwain served as the head coach at Colorado State from 2012 through 2014.

This game is part of the $7 million buyout agreement that brought McElwain to Florida, as the Gators will pay Colorado State $2 million of that total for the game. The matchup against Colorado State is the first Gators game scheduled for the 2018 season.

According to Florida’s media guide, this will mark the Gators’ first football game against Colorado State in program history.
