As it turns out, Heath Shuler isn't the only ex-Tennessee Vols quarterback trying to turn around a school football program. Casey Clausen, who quarterbacked the Vols in the early 2000s, is in the midst of trying to turn things around with a California school.
Tony Ciniglio of the LA Daily News features Clausen and his program at Calabasas High School, which finished 0-10 the season before he took over. Calabasas finished 6-6 last season.
If Clausen's team continues to improve, perhaps it can draw a crowd from the Hollywood elite that live in the area. Justin Bieber recently sold his house to Kim Kardashian – maybe those two could be the team's biggest fans.
Clausen’s secret for success? An all-star coaching staff and lots of transfer student-athletes – 25 to be exact – including Keyshawn Johnson’s son, Keyshawn Johnson, Jr.

Clausen also enlists the help of an all-star coaching staff, one in which Clausen said "all of us played in college and half of us played in the NFL."
Offensive coordinator Rick Clausen, defensive coordinator Chris Claiborne, safeties coach Marshall Jones, defensive line coach Mike Ebbitt, offensive line coach Andy Flores, receivers coach Brian Wilson and cornerbacks coach Andrew Ortega provide instant credibility because they have been where the players have been and know what it is like to go to the next level.
From 2000-’03, Clausen threw for 9,707 yards and 75 touchdowns to 31 interceptions. He went undrafted in 2004, but was a member of the Kansas City Chiefs practice squad that season – his only affiliation with an NFL team.
