D’haquille Williams is back with Auburn after a five-day suspension.
When Auburn receiver Duke Williams was suspended for a week, SEC fans wondered why.
Thankfully, Al.com has added some clarity.
Tigers assistant Dameyune Craig provides insight into exactly what Williams did not do. Here’s what Al.com’ has reported:
“It’s a certain standard that we have here at Auburn University and as far as the way we’re going to practice and being accountable, and that’s it,” Craig said. “It wasn’t no more or no less and I can promise you that.
“There wasn’t no altercation, there wasn’t no arguments, so we can stop the speculation.”
Thanks, Dameyune. That clears up all the speculation. We can all go back to sleep knowing there wasn’t no altercation and there wasn’t no arguments.
So what did Williams do that he did not do? Whatever he did was good enough to get pushed to the bottom of the receiver depth chart, even though he was the Tigers’ leading receiver last year.
Of course, he wasn’t really moved to the bottom of the depth charts. That’s just something a head coach of a program says when a player does something bad enough to get suspended for less than a week, but not bad enough to get suspended for a game.
Something says this may not be the last twist or turn for Auburn’s star receiver.
