Running back Adam Lane has left the team, the Gators announced on Sunday.

Lane, a redshirt sophomore from Winter Haven, Fla., rushed 24 times for 189 yards and a touchdown in 2014. He put up a bulk of those stats in the Birmangham Bowl win over East Carolina, rushing 16 times and 109 yards and a touchdown on the way to the bowl’s MVP honors.

But Lane saw his stock slip with the new Jim McElwain staff taking over for the fired Will Muschamp, so he ask for – and was granted – his release from the team. It’s unclear which school Lane will play for next.
