Tennessee receiver Von Pearson will not be charged in the alleged rape of a 19-year-old woman.

“After a thorough review of the investigation, I have determined that there is insufficient evidence to sustain a criminal prosecution against Von Pearson,” District Attorney General Charme Allen said in a statement. “Mr. Pearson will not be criminally charged as a result of the accusation made against him on April 24, 2015.”

Early in the morning of the alledged incident, Tennessee campus police responded to a call where the woman alleged that a sexual assault had taken place off campus. Pearson was named as the only suspect, according to the Tennessean.

Although no charges were filed, this does not mean that Pearson will be immediately reinstated to the football team. He still has to undergo a student conduct case and have his indefinite suspension lifted.

Pearson finished last season with 38 receptions for 393 yards and five touchdowns, including a seven-catch, 75-yard performance against Iowa in the Taxslayer Bowl.
