LSU defensive back Tre’Davious White is continuing a Tigers’ tradition.

The Tigers announced Wednesday night that White will wear the No. 18 jersey for the 2015 season.

The tradition started in 2003 with quarterback Matt Mauck, who led LSU to a National Championship over Ohio State. The jersey is said to exemplify what it means to be a member of the team on and off the field.

White inherits the uniform from running back Terrence Magee and will debut the new number on Sept. 5 against McNeese State.

He recorded a tackle in every game last season for LSU, finishing with 33 tackles and six pass deflections.
