The father of former South Carolina standout Jadeveon Clowney has been arrested on attempted murder charges, according to The State.

The State reports that Clowney’s father, David Morgan, opened fire on an employee of the Crazy Horse club early this morning after being removed from sitting on a stage at the club. Morgan has a lengthy criminal history that dates back to 1987, having served 15 years in prison for burglary.

Clowney, the top overall pick in the 2014 NFL draft for the Houston Texans, has seen his pro career derailed by injuries after a stellar career with the Gamecocks. He’s currently on Houston’s inactive list.
