Georgia State's practice facility is a beautiful building, but it's not what most recruits look for when deciding which school to sign with. (AJC)

Georgia State’s practice facility. Is this were the X-factor begins? (AJC)

Continuing to mix things up, I thought I’d do a look-ahead to Georgia State’s August camp in a different format, A-to-Z:

I’ll continue to post one letter a day on the blog for the next 26 days:

Today is …

X is for X-factor.

X is for X-factor.

Each game, the chances of winning are going to come down to something intangible, an X-factor.

Those X-factors haven’t gone Georgia State’s way.

From penalties to fumbles to interceptions to mental miscues, when something absolutely didn’t need to go wrong, it inevitably has.

Some believe that you make your own luck. I can understand that belief.

Some believe that luck is just that, a random occurrence. I can understand that belief.

At some point, it would seem that Georgia State’s karma has to turn simply because of the improbability that it hasn’t.

As has been noted throughout this series, Georgia State hasn’t been able to make the impact plays needed to win games.

I’m not sure I’ve ever seen a team as unfortunate as Georgia State’s, but as I alluded to earlier, some believe you make your own luck.
