Netori Johnson thinks Alabama coaches are concerned after his recent visit to UGA.
Johnson, a 4-star offensive lineman who is committed to Alabama,, rated his visit a “10” to last week’s UGA “Dawg Night” camp — which caused Alabama coaches to contact him.
“(Alabama offensive line coach Mario) Cristobal asked me how I liked the (UGA) visit,” Johnson said. “They see Georgia is recruiting me hard. They see Georgia wants me. They see me on Twitter talking about Georgia, just stuff like that.”
Cristobal also told the 2017 commit that he needed to make a trip to Alabama to talk with the coaches. That trip was going to happen, even before Johnson started to flirt with the Bulldogs, he said.
So does the 6-foot-5, 330-pounder think Alabama should worry?
“I wouldn’t say my commitment is shaky, but at the same time, I have taken so many trips,” he said. “I have been to USC, Notre Dame, Georgia, Auburn and Alabama. I guess because I have taken so many visits, some people are saying my commitment is shaky, but I am just having fun. My mind could be changed because I have two more years before I sign anything with any college, so I guess that’s why they are assuming it’s shaky.”
As far as his recruitment stands now, the Cedar Grove High School offensive lineman says UGA and Auburn are right behind Alabama.
“Alabama is on top and Georgia and Auburn are neck and neck right now in the race. Georgia is No. 2 right now. Georgia – right now – I am loving them. I haven’t had a bad visit there yet.”
Even though Johnson really likes UGA, he is unsure what it will take for him to de-commit from the Tide.
“I would love to play for Roll Tide. I am 100 percent with them right now. I’m with them. That’s one of the teams where I really wanted to be at. You can’t go wrong with Alabama.”
