UGA RB target Carlin Fils-aime will be at Dawg Night. The 4-star prospect will not work out, but still plans to compete.
There's a story to that. The 5-foot-11, 185-pounder has a gentleman's agreement with UGA running backs coach Thomas Brown.
“Coach Brown and I have challenged each other to a 40-yard dash,” Fils-Aime told the AJC.
Think about it: If Brown wins, the rising senior from Florida’s Naples High School will have to commit to UGA. If Fils-aime wins, well … that’s expected. He’s the No. 10-rated running back in the nation.
“Well, we haven’t really talked about anything like that now,” said Fils-aime with a laugh. “We talk about life and we have just talked about when I will come up for a visit. He’s a friend to me. I can already say that.”
Brown looks like he can still go. The former UGA standout last carried it Between the Hedges back in 2007. Fils-Aime said he can clock 4.42 seconds in the 40. Brown was credited with a 4.51 time while preparing for the 2008 NFL Draft.
“He works out every day,” Fils-aime said. “He’s pretty much still in shape. Herschel Walker is still running a fast time in the 40. I heard about that and he’s how many years old now?”
The native Haitian already knows about Herschel Walker. “Of course I do,” he said.
He’s slotted out his recruiting process where a coach from a specific school contacts him on a certain day of the week. His UGA day is Monday.
The Florida resident was at Auburn on Friday, and went as far to name Auburn as his “favorite.” When asked to confirm his feelings about Auburn, Fils-aime texted the AJC “so far.”

This weekend is all part of a summer tour where he aims to visit Auburn, UGA, Tennessee and North Carolina in July.
“I’d like to have a decision made by August 1,” he said. ‘But if not I can’t rush it. If I do not know, then I will have to delay my choice until I figure out where I want to go.”
The native Haitian also said he would like to see Boston College, Louisville, Michigan and Oregon but he’s not sure if he will have the time to make those trips. Even on official or unofficial visits this fall.
This will be his first visit to UGA, but Fils-aime has a different connection to the Bulldogs. His friend “who is basically a brother to me” has a sister who graduated from UGA approximately 1.5 years ago.
“I actually started thinking about Georgia the last year she was there,” he said. “She told me how great it was up there for a while now. That’s was when Georgia offered. She told me the football players were awesome and it gets crazy up there for a football game.”
UGA is desperately seeking a running back for its 2015 class after BJ Emmons backed off his pledge to the Bulldogs last month. Another running back that UGA has targeted is Woodward Academy’s Elijah Holyfield, son of boxing great Evander Holyfield.
