Class of 2016 UGA receiver commitment Darion Anderson is recovering from a torn meniscus.

Is that a commitment to start worrying about? Nope. Anderson told the AJC his reason for missing the all-star event this week.

The reason: Team.

Anderson is rehabbing from a knee surgery this past May and said he doesn’t want to make the trip so he can concentrate on his daily rehab and recovery.

“Just rehab,” he said. “Trying to get back to my (high school) team as soon as possible.”

Houston County coach Von Lassiter told the AJC earlier this month that Anderson was working his way back furiously from a torn meniscus he suffered in May while running routes on his own

The expectation was he would return in time for fall camp in August. Anderson said his commitment to UGA should not be placed in doubt by his absence.

“Still strong with Georgia,” he said.
