To mix things up, I thought I’d do a look-ahead to Georgia State’s August camp in a different format, A-to-Z:

I’ll continue to post one letter a day on the blog for the next 26 days:

Today is …

D

Davis, Robert.

The wide receiver put together a very solid sophomore season last year with 50 receptions for 732 yards.

With Albert Wilson gone, Davis became the focus of defenses. That attention freed up parts of the field for Donovan Harden (60 receptions, 885 yards) and tight end Joel Ruiz (39 receptions, 478 yards) to exploit.

That trio will return this year and will be supplement by other talented receivers like Todd Boyd, Glenn Smith and Nyiakki Height.

If defenses focus on trying to stop one, it should open up things for the others.

Davis could be poised for a monster year because he is also physically gifted (6-3, 198) and works hard at his craft, often staying after practice to catch balls.

He is the leader of the group, the first to participate in the myriad drills coached by Tim Lappano (which are amazing to watch, btw).

B is for backfield

A is for Arbuckle
