UGA wide receiver Justin Scott-Wesley has undergone arthroscopic knee surgery.

Despite the injury and the timing of it, the senior could be ready to go by the start of August practice, a source told the AJC on Friday.

Scott-Wesley has had knee problems before. He tore his ACL five games into the 2013 season. At this time, it’s unclear if this recent surgery was done on the same knee that he previously injured.

The 5-foot-11, 201-pounder has not returned to form since tearing his ACL. He appeared in six games this past season and only registered three receptions, 52 yards and one touchdown.

A UGA team spokesman was not available for immediate comment.
