Chandler Reeves has Georgia Tech and Clemson as his co-leaders, and he will likely made his college decision very soon.
The 3-star offensive lineman from Eagle’s Landing Christian Academy earned both offers at each ACC school’s camp last week. The 6-foot-6, 260-pounder has more than 20 early offers, including Maryland, Cal, Syracuse and Vanderbilt.
“My decision will probably be made in the next couple of weeks for sure,” Reeves told the AJC on Thursday. “With all the offers I have on the table, they are great opportunities. I don’t see any reason to go out and chase anything else.

“There are not really any other schools that I’m waiting on. It’s not like I’m a lifelong Georgia fan, and I’m waiting on them to offer because that’s where I want to go. I think the opportunities I have now right now … they are once in a lifetime. I’m really happy about everything.”
Reeves went to Tech camp last week, and later found out that he had impressed the Yellow Jackets enough to earn an offer. He returned to the campus for an unofficial visit.
“I think they have a great coach in Paul Johnson,” Reeves said. “He’s an established coach. I think Georgia Tech has the most underrated program in college football. They compete for championships or go to bowl games every year, and they were right behind Florida State last year in the ACC. So I think they are very underrated.
“I think that Coach Johnson runs a great program, and a tight ship. Another thing is that I really love the triple option, and I think that would be a fun offense to run as an offensive lineman.”
Reeves is being recruited by Tech as a right offensive tackle, while Clemson projects him simply as an offensive tackle.
“It was a blessing to get that offer, mainly because of the integrity of Coach Swinney and the rest of his staff,” Reeves said. “I think they win games there, so it means a lot of get that offer.”
There were rumors that Reeves thought about committing on the spot to Clemson.
“Yes, my flesh might’ve been tempted to commit,” he said. “But I have an older brother who went through all of this. He did the ‘get a big offer and commit’ thing (to Virginia Tech).
“I decided to hold off, and we’re going to pray about it as a family. I want to talk with my high school coaches. I have a lot of respect for them, and I want to get their input.”
His older brother was former ELCA receiver Christian Reeves, who played at Virginia Tech for two seasons before transferring to William & Mary.
