Rising junior Bailey Hockman committed to Georgia on Friday morning. The 6-foot-3, 195-pounder from McEachern became the first commitment of the 2017 signing class at UGA. There's lots of things to like about another left-handed QB who will play at Georgia.
— He threw for 42 touchdowns and 10 interceptions last season as a first-year starter
— His commitment was planned. He wanted to commit to Georgia prior to the start of his junior year so he could focus on his high school team and winning state championships.
— His father Kyle Hockman is the head coach at McEachern. He’s a coach’s kid. He gets the amount of work that’s necessary to be great.
— 247sports pegs him as a four-star prospect and the No. 2 rated pro-style passer for the Class of 2017.
— Georgia's coaches earned his commitment over serious consideration given to Alabama, Florida State, Tennessee and South Carolina.
