Chad Kelly is at Ole Miss.
And now, Greyson Lambert’s transfer to UGA means that three former ACC quarterbacks are in the running to start for SEC teams this fall.
The conference’s QB talent pool has been declining since the mighty group that included AJ McCarron, Johnny Manziel, Aaron Marshall and Zach Mettenberger headed to the NFL a couple of years ago, but did you expect SEC programs to rely on guys who left ACC teams?
This isn’t basketball.
Coker, who transferred from Florida State after playing behind Jameis Winston, couldn't beat out Blake Sims last year and faces more competition this season from David Cornwell, Alec Morris and highly touted freshman Blake Barnett.
Kelly, who was dismissed from Clemson for on- and off-field issues, played last year at East Mississippi Community College and then transferred to Ole Miss, where he could replace Bo Wallace.
He reportedly has been a good citizen there after being arrested in December for allegedly punching a bouncer and scuffling with police.
Kelly’s competition comes from Ryan Buchanan and DeVante Kincade.
Lambert, who started nine games at Virginia in 2014, enters what already was a heated competition between Brice Ramsey, Faton Bauta and Jacob Park for UGA's QB job.
Lambert threw for 1,972 yards, 10 TDs and 11 interceptions in 2014.
And just think, former Notre Dame QB Everett Golson, could have ended up at Florida, instead of FSU, where he would have become the most experienced QB in the program.
