DT Tyler Clark (AJC)
Will UGA get a commitment from one of the state’s top defensive linemen on Friday night?
a 4-star from Americus-Sumter High School, will announce his college decision between UGA, Auburn and Clemson around 7:30 p.m. Friday. Clark is rated as the state’s No. 20 overall prospect.
“He has got a ton of ability,” his coach, Erik Soliday, told the AJC on Friday.
“He’s a big kid who really moves well. He has good hips, good hands and good feet – which is all the stuff that usually makes a good football player, and it’s why he’s getting so much attention. He has just had those intangibles that make you a good football player. He also has a good work ethic.”
Soliday said that Clark reminds him a lot of Montravius Adams, the 5-star from Dooly County who signed with Auburn a couple of years ago. "He is similar in stature with that kid. They are both really good-sized kids, and they are both really good athletes."
Soliday said he expected at least two coaches from UGA, along with one from Auburn, to be at the team’s spring scrimmage, which starts at 6:30 p.m. Clark will commit after it’s over with.
UGA is the frontrunner for Clark, and the Bulldogs could also get a commitment from cornerback Chad Clay of Peachtree Ridge High School. Clay has UGA, Ohio State and Florida as his co-leaders, and is expected to announce within the next 10 days, if not sooner.
