Amazon Prime one-hour delivery debuts in Atlanta

April 2, 2015

Amazon announced today it is now offering one-hour deliver service to select zip codes in the metro Atlanta area.

The service, Prime Now, is only available to Prime members who can use a mobile app (available for iOS and Android devices) to order thousands of items for delivery within an hour. Amazon plans to expand beyond the current 22 local zip codes soon.

Delivery is available from 8 a.m. to midnight, seven days a week in Atlanta, but it does come at a cost. While two-hour delivery is free, one-hour delivery costs $7.99.

Remember, only members of Amazon Prime are eligible for Prime Now.

Amazon Prime is the $99 per year membership that offers free shipping on millions of Amazon goods, instant streaming of movies and TV episodes through Prime Instant Video, songs and hundreds of playlists through Prime Music, free unlimited photo storage through Amazon’s Cloud Drive with Prime Photos, early access to select Amazon’s Lightning Deals and access to books you can borrow through the Kindle Owners’ Lending Library.
