Life certainly wasn’t a beach for Dominick Sanders during Georgia’s spring break.
The defensive back, who said he’s playing free safety, worked out with former UGA stars and current NFL players A.J. Green and Justin Houston at Tucker’s Rock Hard Fitness last week.
Green is a Pro Bowl receiver with the Cincinnati Bengals and Houston led the NFL with 22 sacks this past season.
Coincidence put Sanders, who is a sophomore from Tucker, in the gym at the same time as Green and Houston.
“It was pretty fun,” he said. “Most of the workout time I was talking to them like, `Man, I can’t believe I’m in front of two NFL guys,’ They (had) been training at that gym before I came there. It was pretty fun.”
Sanders intercepted three passes — two in the win over Louisville in the Belk Bowl — and was the only defensive back to start all 13 games last year.
“I feel it’s a leadership role for me now,” he said. “I learned so much from the secondary that was there last year. And being here this year, and starting this spring, I have a lot of expectations I have to meet.”
