Join a special opening night "Night Out" with Atlanta Ballet for the world premiere of a ballet adaptation of Tennessee Williams' "Camino Real."

The event takes place at the Cobb Energy Centre ( 2800 Cobb Galleria Parkway, Atlanta) Friday, March 20 with a pre-show party at 6:30 p.m. and the performance to begin at 8 p.m.

For $25 you can get a package that includes a ticket to the premiere, and a cocktail during the pre-show party which will be held in the Grand Tier lounge of the Cobb Energy Centre. At the pre-show event, guests will enjoy a “meet and greet” with Atlanta Ballet dancer Kiara Felder.  There will also be prize giveaways.

The play of the same name by Tennessee Williams debuted on Broadway in 1953. It is a story of good vs. evil featuring characters from literature and pop culture such as Kilroy, Casanova and Don Quixote. The ballet — the first full-length work of Helen Pickett — has been under development for three years and involves an innovative mix of dance and theater.

Unlike traditional ballet, the main characters have speaking parts (direct lines from the play). In addition, 30 minutes before the curtain goes up, dancers, in character, will mingle with the guests. The cast also interacts with the audience throughout the show.

The show runs from March 20 – March 22 with tickets starting as low as $20.
