ATHENS – A relaxed and confident, Todd Gurley talked to reporters covering UGA's Pro Day on Wednesday. Georgia's former star tailback was participating only as an observer on this day as he's still recovering from December knee surgery to repair a torn ACL. But he spent a lot of time conversing with NFL scouts and personnel executives, while also razzing former teammates.

As he did at the NFL combine last month, Gurley once again acknowledged that he'd made a "dumb mistake" which resulted in his losing his college eligibility for four games and possibly cost the Bulldogs a shot at the SEC Eastern Division championship. After a UGA investigation, Gurley admitted to signing autographs for money his first two seasons with the Bulldogs, which violated his amateur status and was determined to

“I made a dumb mistake,” Gurley told reporters. “It was something I did my freshman-sophomore year; something I shouldn’t have done. I knew the rules (and) I still broke them. And I’m definitely ready to move on and get on with my life. But it’s still gonna be something that’s brought up, and it’s something I’ve learned from.”

Gurley tore the ACL in his left knee against Auburn, his first game back from suspension, and missed the rest of the season. He is unable to run and cut yet but is expected to be recovered sometime in the fall and is still commanding great interest for the upcoming NFL draft.

I was unable to attend Pro Day this year due to some personal business. But the AJC's Atlanta Falcons and NFL reporter Darryl Ledbetter was on the scene and has filed multiple reports. He'll be filing a detailed story on Gurley later but, for now, you can read about what teams Gurley is meeting with over the coming days.

I’ll post other links as they come available.
