How is Nick Chubb spending his spring break? Well, pulling weighted sleds while wearing a weighted vest and working out at his old high school.
Of course.
Credit Rusty Mansell of 247Sports.com for pointing out this latest chapter in the phenomena that is Chubb. He went over to Cedartown High and shot a couple of Vine videos of Chubb working out with the high school kids over at his alma mater on Tuesday. At left is a still shot, but you can follow THIS FREE LINK to see the Vines on the Dawgs247 website.
“I’ve never been around a kid like this,” said Mansell, who as a Georgia-based recruiting analyst was among the first to discover Chubb’s unique physical talents. “The dude works his (rear-end) off.”
Bulldogs fans will be glad to know that Chubb is not resting on his laurels. The sophomore would have cause to. Taking over for suspended starter Todd Gurley at tailback near midseason last year, the 5-foot-11, 228-pounder ended up starting eight games and rushed for 1,547 yards and 14 TDs. That was second only to a guy named Herschel Walker in terms of freshman rushing records at UGA.
Chubb is back to man the tailback position for the Bulldogs, who begin spring football practice on Tuesday. He has some help, too. A now-healthy Keith Marshall, Sony Michael and Brendan Douglas are back as well, along with a recovered A.J. Turman (toe, foot) and fullback Quayvon Hicks.
Not sure what the other backs were doing for vacation but, based on Chubb’s spring break plans, it does not appear he plans to be overtaken on the depth chart.
