Julio Franco made his major league baseball debut at the age of 23 with the 1982 Philadelphia Phillies.
Since that time, Franco spent two seasons in Japan and the greater part of two decades in the majors with Atlanta Braves, Cleveland Indians, Texas Rangers, New York Mets, Chicago White Sox and Milwaukee Brewers. His last appearance in the majors came as a pinch-hitter with the Braves in 2007 at the age of 49.

Last year, at the age of 55, Franco attempted a return to baseball with the Fort Worth Cats of the independent United League as a player/manager. That didn't work out.
But Franco isn’t done in baseball.
At 56, Franco has signed on to suit up to be a player-manager with the Ishikawa Million Stars of the independent league in Japan in 2015.
