Will Darius Slayton flip from UGA to Auburn? (AJC)

What's the latest with Darius Slayton?

He’s the receiver from Greater Atlanta Christian who is officially committed to UGA, but thinking about flipping to Auburn.

Slayton committed to UGA in December but the Bulldogs lost their footing when offensive coordinator Mike Bobo left. He was scheduled to return to UGA this weekend for an unofficial visit but canceled so he could talk things over with his parents.

What was Slayton’s status on Sunday? “He will have a decision on Monday or Tuesday,” his coach, Tim Hardy told the AJC.

UGA and Auburn are going head-to-head over the final days for two of the state's best receivers. The other recruiting war is for UGA 5-star commit Terry Godwin, with coach Gus Malzahn sneaking away from Auburn's campus (not once but TWICE) to visit Godwin on Saturday.

Slayton’s coach wasn’t with Slayton the whole weekend, but he wasn’t aware of his star player meeting with coaches from Auburn or UGA. “I don’t think so,” he said.

Even though Godwin is ranked higher than Slayton, some feel that Slayton is just as good and should be a 5-star prospect, too. This past season, Slayton helped GAC make an appearance in the Class AA state championship game.
