Tiger Woods just wanted to blend in, or more importantly not stick out.
He failed at both.
On Tuesday, Woods was the most talkative he’s been in a while at the Phoenix Open presser where he explained his tooth mishap and the mask he wore to Lindsey Vonn’s ski race last week.
Woods says his tooth was knocked out by a videographer, which raised many eyebrows and to which Tiger shrugs off as “It’s just the way the media is.”
And then there’s the mask. Woods says he used the mask, to cover the chipped tooth, but also to fit into a sportscape that is largely, um, pale.
“I was trying to blend in,” he told reporters. “There’s not a lot of brown dudes at ski races.”
