Every kid talks about plans to take all five official visits. But the reality is that very few ever do.
One of Georgia Tech's top remaining targets, Anree Saint-Amour, has the chance to accomplish that rare feat next week. Saint-Amour is a 3-star defensive end from North Gwinnett High School who has quietly been extremely busy on the recruiting trail.
The 6-foot-3, 245-pounder has already taken official visits to Georgia Tech, Michigan State, Iowa and Minnesota. He will take his fifth trip next week to Stanford.
“I’m getting kind of closer to my decision, I guess,” Saint-Amour told the AJC on Monday night. “I don’t have a set date to announce — maybe a couple of weeks after I get back from Stanford or maybe sooner.”
Saint-Amour toured Georgia Tech last month, and he came away impressed.
“Awesome people,” he said. “Georgia Tech is close to home, and that’s good. It’s an awesome education, and it’s awesome football. They won in the Orange Bowl, and they’re doing some good things.”

Saint-Amour, who intends to major in Business or Mechanical Engineering, said his chief recruiter from Georgia Tech is defensive coordinator Ted Roof. He got to spend some time with Yellow Jackets coach Paul Johnson during his visit.
“Coach Johnson told me that I would get a chance to play early,” Saint-Amour said. “He told me I could get a great degree. He talked about how they’re building the team, and how they’re going to be competing for championships. He got a contract extension, so they’ll have the same staff for the next four years. So that will be good if I went there.”
Saint-Amour claims he doesn’t have a leader, but the 247sports Crystal Ball predictions project him to Stanford. On the other hand, there are also rumors that his parents want him to stay closer to home.
“My parents really like Georgia Tech,” he said. “They want to go where I want to go, but they love the fact that it’s only 30 minutes down the road.”
What will be his most important factors in reaching a decision? “It will be how I feel about the place and how I feel about the people there,” Saint-Amour said. “Of course, I want to go somewhere to get a good degree that will help me after football is over.”
Last year in Georgia, nearly 200 kids signed D1 football scholarships, and only one player took all five official visits. That was Liberty County High School’s Raekwon McMillan, the 5-star linebacker who signed with Ohio State.
