DE D’Andre Walker of Langston Hughes (12thman promotions)

UGA got some good news on Saturday when D'Andre Walker committed before taking his official visit to the Bulldogs.

Walker is a 4-star defensive end from Langston Hughes High School. He picked UGA over Auburn and Tennessee during Saturday’s Army All-America Bowl on NBC-TV.

Walker was supposed to visit UGA last month, but had to postpone the trip in order to take the SAT test. He is still working on meeting NCAA entrance requirements.

Walker, who stands 6-foot-2.5 and 210 pounds, will take an official visit to UGA later this month. He has already toured Tennessee, and it’s still unclear whether he will still take a trip to Auburn later this month as originally planned.

Before Walker made his announcement on national TV, he told the AJC that his “final decision won’t be final” until Feb. 4’s signing day.

Walker is rated as the state’s No. 19 overall prospect, per the 247sports composite rankings. He has been a dominant player the last three seasons at Langston Hughes, registering 29 tackles for losses and 23.5 sacks as a senior.

UGA now has 26 commits for 2015, and they could sign as many as 31 in this class.
