Eleven major metro Atlanta-based companies receive perfect ratings when it comes to equality efforts toward lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender employees, according to an annual report card.

The 13th edition of the Human Rights Campaign Foundation’s Corporate Equality Index recognizes policies, benefits and practices that major companies establish to benefit LGBT workers.

Criteria include having sexual orientation and gender identity non-discrimination protections throughout a business' operations; requiring contractors to abide by non-discrimination policies; and prohibiting philanthropic giving to non-religious groups that have anti LGBT policies.

Metro Atlanta law firms represented the highest number of companies in any one category among major locally-based businesses, followed by banking and financial services.

Most of the major companies on the list, however, have a presence in the metro area.

Take a look at the chart at left to see which locally-based companies received a 100 rating.
