Warm air to the west is heading toward metro Atlanta to bring a nice warming trend to the five-day forecast, said Channel 2 Action News meteorologist Brad Nitz.

“It’ll be mostly cloudy on Monday but we get to 60, and then partly cloudy Tuesday with a high near 70 degrees,” said Nitz. Monday’s low will be a mild 41, while Tuesday’s low will be a pleasant 50. Forecasters expect a 30 percent chance of rain on Tuesday.

The warm up Tuesday will be ahead of a cold front that will bring the risk of showers and storms by mid week, said Nitz. Rain chances are 80 percent on Wednesday.

“And after the rain moves through, cooler air moves in beginning Thursday,” Nitz said. On Thursday, temps return to a high of 51 and a low of 39, more typical for this time of year.
