Clouds are keeping temperatures in the 70s Wednesday, according to Channel 2 Action News.

That’s not exactly cool.

But after consecutive days of record highs in metro Atlanta, it's the first sign Atlanta is breaking the trend.

Temps were 70 degrees in Atlanta, 68 in Blairsville and 70 in Griffin just before 1 p.m.

They will reach a high of 79 degrees by 6 p.m., Channel 2 meteorologist Karen Minton said.

Highs are expected to increase to 82 degrees Thursday before dropping to the low 70s Friday, Minton said.

There is a 10 percent chance of rain Thursday.

“Don’t plan on a lot of rain,” Minton said. “You really aren’t going to see much of anything other than a few clouds.”
