Isolated showers and storms were expected throughout Sunday, but more areas were expected to stay dry than not, Channel 2 Action News meteorologist Brian Monahan said.

The string of 90-degree days continues this week, Monahan said, with rain chances about 20 percent through Tuesday.

At noon Sunday, when the temperature hit 90 degrees, metro Atlanta residents hit the 44th day in a row of temperatures at or above 90, Monahan said.

Monday morning is expected to start out partly cloudy with possible isolated showers.

Scattered storms are more likely in the afternoons.

Thursday brings a 40 percent chance of rain and a high of only 92 degrees, which is the lowest high in the five-day forecast. Lows for the next five days are about 75 degrees daily.

Temperatures were 95 degrees in Atlanta, 88 degrees in Blairsville and 95 degrees in Griffin just before 5:30 p.m.
