Wednesday’s bright sunshine will be replaced by clouds and another chance of rain by Thursday morning, but sunny skies will return for the weekend, when forecasters are predicting the coldest temperatures since March.

By early Saturday, the mercury is expected to dip into the mid-30s in Atlanta.

Channel 2 Action News meteorologist Karen Minton forecasts a 30 percent chance of rain for Thursday’s morning commute, but rain should end by the afternoon.

Sunny skies are forecast for Friday through Sunday, along with cooler temperatures, Minton said.

Afternoon highs will be in the upper 60s through Thursday, the low 60s Friday, the mid-50s Saturday and the upper 50s Sunday.

Morning lows will be in the mid-50s Thursday, the mid-40s Friday, then drop to around 36 degrees Saturday and 38 on Sunday.

The last time Atlanta recorded temperatures in the 30s was on March 29, when the low hit 31 degrees. Atlanta’s normal low for mid-November is 46, and the normal high is 65.
