An oncoming cold front should mean lower humidity in metro Atlanta on Sunday and into the week, according to Channel 2 Action News.

Meteorologist Brian Monahan said Atlanta rainfall is already more than a foot above average this year, so Sunday’s 30 percent chance of rain is a sight for sore eyes.

And get this, Monday and Tuesday have no rain in the forecast.

“It’s going to get even drier tomorrow,” Monahan said Sunday morning.

This drier air is following a cold front that began to move into Georgia on Saturday. It should mellow out the humidity and rain chances as the week progresses.

With fewer rain clouds come higher temperatures, so the highs should rise into the 90s through midweek. Sunday’s high should be 89 degrees.

Braves fans should enjoy the weather in SunTrust Park at 1:35 p.m. when they take on the Milwaukee Brewers. Attendees should expect the traffic in Cobb County to pick up around first pitch.

Cobb County’s main interstates also will face construction work as usual. The Georgia Department of Transportation will continue work on the I-75/I-285 resurfacing project this weekend, with multi-lane closures along both interstates in both directions.
