Sunday is expected to bring more rain and storms to metro Atlanta. However, a break in the pattern is expected to follow.
Afternoon and evening showers could bring gusty wind and small hail, Channel 2 Action News meteorologist Brian Monahan said Sunday morning.
However, an incoming front means a “big pattern change” is in the works.
“Could be a bit more (rain) today,” Monahan said, “then we start to dry things out.”
The chance of rain is 40 percent, and 90 degrees is the predicted high, which will only further fuel the strength of any developing storms.

The rain and lightning should hit the city around the end of the Braves game against the Washington Nationals at SunTrust Park. The game starts at 1:35 p.m., so traffic may get congested nearby when the game begins and ends.
It’s recommended people stay indoors and off the roads when possible during the afternoon thunderstorms, and it’s very recommended to stay out of the Chattahoochee River.

Runoff from the past few days’ rains and the rising levels at Lake Lanier and Buford Dam have spilled into the river, causing unsafe levels of bacteria.
The good news is there should only be one more day of nasty weather to get through.
Monday through Thursday show no chances of rain, and highs are predicted at 85 on Monday and Tuesday.
“Overnight, the front moves in,” Monahan said, adding that it should “knock the humidity away.”
