Sunday’s projected high of 83, about 5 degrees above average for the date, looks like the beginning of another unseasonably warm week in metro Atlanta.
Channel 2 Action News Meteorologist Katie Walls said temps will be in the “mid- to upper 80s” by the end of the week.
September temps are running 7.2 degrees above normal, according to Walls.
As for rain, “chances Sunday increase to 30 percent before we head back into a drier pattern,” Walls said.
Craving a cool down? I'm not seeing it in the picture for a while. Temperatures are forecast to stay ABOVE average through mid-October. I'm updating when *August-like temperatures* arrive this week from 9-11AM on Ch. 2 Action News. pic.twitter.com/8LLG5FE14s

The weather should be nice enough for people en route to the Atlanta Falcons’ game against Cincinnati at Mercedes-Benz Stadium. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m.
However, know that interstates and surface streets in the stadium area will be clogged with traffic before and after the game.
The I-75 resurfacing project in Cobb County should continue this weekend. That means 11 miles of the interstate will have three to four lanes blocked in both directions until 5 a.m. Monday, according to the Cobb County Department of Transportation.
UPDATED TRAFFIC ADVISORY - Crews have rescheduled the work that was supposed to be performed today on a street leak repair. The repair work is now scheduled to begin on 10/1 at 9 a.m. and continue until 5 p.m at 3689 Peachtree Road NE between Narmore Dr. NE and Vermont Road NE.
