It may be more of a break than a pattern, but metro Atlanta could actually see some sun Saturday.
“We are going to see breaks of sunshine,” Channel 2 Action News meteorologist Eboni Deon said.
That's quite a contrast to Friday's rain, which pushed 2018 into place as the second-wettest year on record for Atlanta.
But the sun isn’t expected to last long. Deon said clouds will move back in later in the day, with another round of rain to follow.
“Rain chances go right back up,” she said.
We'll dry out tonight and tomorrow, but more rain is in the forecast Sunday - Wednesday.

There’s a 30 percent chance of rain Saturday, which doubles to 60 percent Sunday.
Flood warnings and overflowing creeks should continue, and particularly in such cases as the Chattahoochee River, levels may continue rising. Channel 2 meteorologist Brad Nitz said surrounding creeks are still flowing into the river, causing the water level to rise despite the lack of new rain.
I've checking river gauges and water level forecasts. Most have peaked and are starting to fall. The exception is the Chattahoochee River in Atlanta and downstream. It crests later as creeks drain into it.

The possibility of sunshine is good news for those attending the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl between Florida and Michigan at Mercedes-Benz Stadium at noon Saturday.

2018 is now the 2nd WETTEST on record. With additional rainfall expected Sunday and New Year's Eve, I suspect we'll be close to the record! pic.twitter.com/xOoE9xCPf2
