Enjoy the weather while you can because it won’t last forever — not even through the weekend.

Saturday’s temperatures are expected to top out at 64 degrees in Atlanta, and with only a 20 percent chance of rain, there won’t be many excuses to avoid enjoying outdoor activities.

“We are going to see a lot of clouds around today, but not a whole lot in the way of rain,” Channel 2 Action News meteorologist Eboni Deon said. “A passing shower early but the remainder of this afternoon and into this evening will be mostly cloudy and on the drier side.”

For those looking to get outside this weekend, today’s the day to do it, Deon said.

On Sunday, the weather is expected to change drastically as a cold front from the Midwest is expected to make its way through North Georgia and into Middle Georgia, stirring up the air and creating the potential for severe thunderstorms and even tornadoes.

“We could see a few spotty showers around early (Sunday), but rain becomes more widespread along with a few thunderstorms developing for the afternoon and evening,” Deon said, “some of which could become strong or severe.”

Following Sunday’s the rain, Monday brings two significant weather shifts: one positive and one negative.

Let’s start positive: There’s no rain in the forecast. The downside is winter weather will return, and temperatures will quickly drop into the 40s.
