Keep an eye out for showers and perhaps thunderstorms Saturday afternoon in and around Atlanta.
There is a 30 percent chance of storms after midday, Channel 2 Action News meteorologist Brian Monahan said. The likelihood is greatest from I-20 north to the mountains, he said.
“The opportunity for rain will continue into the evening before things settle down,” Monahan said.
Saturday’s rain also means an “increased potential for localized flooding” because of abundant moisture, according to the National Weather Service. Ponding in low-lying areas will be possible.
Get read for some heat Sunday, as Monahan said the temperature could reach 95 degrees. Chance of rain will increase to 60 percent.
