Showers and thunderstorms spawned by the remnants of Hurricane Isaac will continue to dampen parts of metro Atlanta through Wednesday, but drier air should push into the state by late in the week.

Channel 2 Action News meteorologist Karen Minton said Tuesday will be mostly cloudy with a 70 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, and highs around 83 degrees.

A mix of clouds and sunshine is forecast for Wednesday, along with a 50 percent chance of scattered showers and highs in the mid-80s.

The chance of rain goes down and temperatures go up on Thursday, when Minton is forecasting a 20 percent chance of rain and highs around 90 degrees.

Friday will be partly cloudy, with a 30 percent chance of rain and highs again near 90, Minton said.
