Clouds are keeping temperatures in the 70s Wednesday, according to Channel 2 Action News.

That’s not exactly cool.

But after consecutive days of record highs in metro Atlanta, it's the first sign Atlanta is breaking the trend.

Temps were 69 degrees in Atlanta, 57 in Blairsville and 63 in Griffin just before 10:20 p.m.

Highs are expected to increase to 82 degrees Thursday before dropping to the low 70s Friday, Minton said.

There is a 10 percent chance of rain Thursday.

“Don’t plan on a lot of rain,” Minton said. “You really aren’t going to see much of anything other than a few clouds.”

Expect a cold front to pass through Thursday evening with cloudy coverage, Channel 2 Chief meteorologist Glenn Burns said.

Highs are still expected to be in the 80s, but cool temps should enter the metro area by midnight Friday. The average time for this time of year is 68, Burns said.

Tomorrow's expected his is 80 degrees by 3 p.m. with lows being in the high 60s.
