One week from the official beginning of fall next Thursday, more warm and sunny weather is on the way.

Temperatures are expected to reach the upper 80s this weekend, according to Channel 2 Action News.

And don’t rule out surprise peaks in the 90s, which happened Monday, Wednesday and Thursday in Atlanta.

Temperatures were 84 degrees in Atlanta, 70 in Blairsville and 73 in Griffin just before 10:30 p.m. Thursday.

A tropical depression dubbed Julia that is sitting off the coast of Georgia and South Carolina will fail to bring rain to metro Atlanta.

“And for us, it’s going to mean a mostly clear sky, low humidity and the return of some sunshine as we head into tomorrow,” Channel 2 meteorologist Brad Nitz said.

Rain chances will be minimal to nonexistent Friday.

The next chance of rain is a 10 percent chance Saturday and Sunday.
